Hello, my name is, Carla and I'm the Administrative Assistant for Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila. I’ve been here since 1994, and enjoy interacting with our patients and my co-workers. In addition to working front desk, I assist with accounts payable. I enjoy the challenge of this aspect of my job. I love talking and joking with our patients. It is very satisfying and at times, amazing to see the results that can be obtained with orthodontics.I am a native of Ellicott City, Maryland and currently live in New Windsor, Maryland with my husband Bill, my 3 Jack Russells and 2 cats. I thoroughly enjoy living in the country. In my free time, I love to take long walks with my “Jack Pack” and play outdoors with them. I enjoy bird and nature watching and spending time with my granddaughters. Shalisse 
Hello, my name is Shalisse, and I’m the New Patient/Insurance Coordinator for Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila. I’ve been with the office since 2002, and enjoy the time the doctors spend with our patients explaining treatment and making sure they understand what their treatment entails. I also love that our patients, grow up right before our eyes, and I also love the feeling of making our patients happy with their beautiful smile. My patients are great because they are so excited to start treatment and cannot wait to show off their new colors.I am a native of Carroll County and currently live in Hampstead with my wonderful husband, Dan, my beautiful little girl, Madalyn and my miniature Daschund, Chloe. In my free time, I enjoy taking my daughter to the park, cooking, and watching movies. Nicole 
Hello, my name is Nicole, and I am an Administrative Assistant for Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila. I've been with OrthodontiX for 2 years, and enjoy learning something new everyday about teeth and braces. I also love working with my co-workers and the doctors. My patients are great because I feel we all have a special bond with them when they walk through the door; they have some great stories to tell.I am a native of Baltimore and currently live in BelAir, Maryland with my Mom & Stepdad. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, going to the movies, and going shopping, and the occasional Bingo on Saturday nights. Also, I have a dog, cat and 2 birds. I plan to return to college to get a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in photography. Terry 
Hello, my name is Terry, and I am an Orthodontic Technician. I’ve been with Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila since 2005. I am a native of Carroll County Maryland and currently live in Westminster, Maryland. I am a career Firefighter with Howard County Fire and Rescue and have been for 2 years now. Currently I am assigned to Station 9, Long Reach. Outside of work, I enjoy road bicycling and running. . . to the fridge. Just kidding, staying physically fit is important to me.

Hello, my name is Danielle, and I'm the New Patient Coordinator for Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila. I've been with OrthodontiX since 2002 and enjoy working in a progressive environment. I also love working for such kind and talented doctors. My patients are great because every person in our office has a story to tell. Having individual treatment rooms give us a great opportunity to connect with our patients. As we begin traveling down the road of OrthodontiX together, our patients become a part of our extended family, a connection that has been lost in similar service oriented environments.I am a native of Washington, DC and currently live in Baltimore, Maryland with my husband Dave & son Brian. In my free time, I enjoy being a mom, shopping & improving my home. Also, my career with Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila has brought me such pleasure over the years. The level of service I am able to provide our patients far surpasses any professional environment I have experienced, where pride and service have not been forgotten. Jenn 
Hello, my name is Jenn and I'm an Orthodontic Technician for Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila. I've been with OrthodontiX since March 2009, but have been working in the field of orthodontics since April 2002. I enjoy being able to help create beautiful smiles. I am native to Westminster, in Carroll County Maryland and currently live in Littlestown, just outside of Gettysburg Pennsylvania with 2 roommates. I enjoy spending time my free time with my friends.

Hello, my name is Corynn, and I am an Orthodontic Technician for Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila. I have been with the practice since 2002, and enjoy the close relationships I have formed with the patients over the years. I also love that the practice treats every single patient with excellent care, compassion and respect. My patients are great because they are always positive and excited to come see us to get their colors changed on their braces and to collect their wooden tokens for prizes!I am a native of Phoenix, MD in Baltimore County, and currently live in Parkville, MD with my fiancé, 3 dogs and 2 cats. In my free time, I enjoy taking my dogs to the dog park and spending time with my fiancé and friends. Mira 
Hello, my name is Mira and I am an Orthodontic Technician for Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila. I’ve been with the OX team since 2008 and enjoy being on the cutting edge of orthodontics with knowledgeable, caring and extraordinary skilled co-workers and doctors. I also enjoy working with such a wonderfully diverse patient base. Building relationships and sharing experiences with patients makes every visit a pleasurable one, all the while creating an awesome OX smile!!!!! I am a native of New Jersey and currently live in Windsor Mill MD with my daughter Jayden. In my free time I enjoy going to the gym, running, playing with my daughter and participate in various fundraisers and charities in and around my community. Hello, my name is Deb and I am an Orthodontic Technician I've been working for Drs. Hickory, Selnick and Avila for about 3 years. My favorite thing to do is put braces on!!! Our staff loves to play and have fun with each other and our patients, so we may seem a little on the goofy side sometimes. Our doctors are the best on the east coast and we love to stay on the cutting edge of technology!I live in Carroll County, MD with my husband, daughter, granddaughter and our Chessie. We have 2 sons who are currently serving in the US Army in Vicenza, Italy and we are very proud of them! In my spare time, I like to take long walks in the woods at our house with my granddaughter, Sydney and our dog, Buffy. My all time favorite thing to do is take weekend motorcycle rides with my husband, Mark. I’m always looking forward to see all the smiling faces of our smiles "under construction". Karey

I’ve been with the practice for five years and enjoy interacting with the patient’s and watching smiles develop. I also enjoy working with all three doctors and the different personalities that they offer. I find that I learn something new from one of the patients every day that I work.I am a native of Westminster Maryland and currently live in Hanover Pennsylvania. I have two dogs Riley and River that are like children. My hobby, that also happens to be my full time job, is firefighting. I am an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens and the Boston Red Sox and love all sports. |
